"The unexpected Natural disasters"
|
“Nature”, whenever we hear this word, a pleasant picture of God’s blessings, pop in our mind with beautiful trees, green mountains, grassy meadows glimmering rivers everything that forbids us to think about this unseen heaven.
But this is only one side of the picture, in certain aspects Nature has also acted as a curse, in the forms of Floods, Volcanoes, Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Lightning and Tsunamis .Over a million of people die every year due to these disasters of Nature.
Pakistan has also been a victim of many unexpected natural disasters .On 8th October 2005, the northern part of Pakistan was greatly shocked with an earth quake of 7.6 magnitude .Millions of innocent people died, thousands were wounded and hundreds were left homeless. Until today many people are still waiting for the help from those who promised to. Even today in those parts of Pakistan the wails of those parents echo in our ears who lost their beloved off springs, the mourn of those children who lost their parents .Only felling sorry for them we cannot bring their love ones back.

"Inspiring Dreams"
Related to country: Pakistan
|
Whenever i lose hope or give up,the encouraging and inspiring dreams and words of an eighteen years old boy "Ali Ahmed"hit my head.
In spite of knowing that he is suffering from a mysterious disease called "Paralysis"Ali Ahmed never gives up his hope of making his valley-like village "Moolah",in Baluchistan a better place.
Without anybody's support Ali Ahmed has invented many things like electricity from potatoes,a thresher from clay, loud speakers. He even repair radios without being paid. One day when i was observing his creations,he asked me with enthusiasm,"Fatima, will you bring me an empty mobile case from Karachi the next time you visit us,because i want to try to create a small television in it." I thought,"how would he do that?!and was staring at his face which was full of excitement even before his success.
Ali Ahmed is an excellent example for everyone of us because we who are living in developed and civilized countries with every luxury and availability of life always give up our dreams at small failures.
Let us not forget inspiring dreams of those masses, who in spite of having nothing never lose hope and tend to move forward until they accomplish their goals.

"Drop by drop,creates an ocean"
|
"It's not the same now." I thought, with tears of sadness floating from my eyes,as I glanced through the window of the bus,at my beautiful village, which was now surrounded by a dreadful drought.
I live in Karachi but usually go to my village "Kalat"located in the province of Baluchistan, with my family.I always have a lot of fun and enjoy the chirping of the birds, the grassy meadows, the hills, the mountains, the waving of the trees at me as the wind blows through them very much. When i am there it seems as if i am in heaven.
But from this year Kalat has been facing many problems due to the dreadful effects of drought. I couldn't believe my eyes, my happiness of visiting Kalat vanished into thin air, as the bus entered the province of Baluchistan. The rivers have dried, the trees looked just like thin sticks with few scattered branches and leaves due to the intensity of heat and lack of water. My beautiful village had turned into a hell. My eyes became moist as i felt the voices of the trees, birds, meadows, mountains, hills and rivers calling me begging for help.
After greeting everyone at my grandparents house in Kalat, I rushed towards the computer to find out the real cause of this condition of my village. "Just as i thought." I told my self. "This is all due to Climate Change." I said in a painful tone.
Climate Change is included in one of the biggest issues of the world. It is not only effecting Kalat but also many countries and districts in the world in different ways.
"I cant believe that Climate Change has gone this worse." I proclaimed, but suddenly i felt a knot of guilt in my stomach. This guilt forced me to think that climate did not change it self but we are the one who are turning our precious world into a hell.
But suddenly it hit me, "Why don't do something myself?, instead of blaming others." I thought with enthusiasm.
The other day i woke up early with my eyes sparkling due to the idea flopping in my head. I rushed towards my father as soon as i got ready and asked him to give me permission to have some meetings with the indigenous masses of Baluchistan. My father agreed on the spot and said, "I am really proud that your my daughter, Nida", patting on my head. I left the room with a twinkle of pride in my eye and a huge smile on my face.
I had countless meetings with many people of different districts of Baluchistan including Kalat. I told them how they can contribute in reducing Climate Change to make the world a better place not only for themselves but also for the coming generations.
Today I am relieved from the guilt i felt before. I know that only one person cannot do much reduce to Climate Change, but i surely believe that ,"Drop by drop, creates an ocean."
